Anza Borrego With Agile Offroad: 15 Grenadiers, 120° Heat, and a Dialed-In Desert Run

We headed out to Anza Borrego with John Brindell from Agile Offroad for what became one of the biggest and most impressive Grenadier meetups we’ve had. Fifteen INEOS Grenadier owners showed up, ready to put real miles on their trucks and run some of Southern California’s best desert terrain with one of the most trusted names in off-road guiding the way.

The day was no joke — temperatures climbed to 120 degrees out on the valley floor. The kind of heat that exposes weak links fast. But the Grenadiers took it in stride. Engines stayed cool, drivetrains stayed steady, and even with a long trail lineup ahead of us, every truck kept pushing without complaint.

John set the tone from the start. Calm, technical, and locked-in on every line. After a quick air-down and meetup at the trailhead, the convoy rolled out — fifteen rigs moving across wide-open desert, each with its own setup and story, all built for this exact kind of punishment.

Anza Borrego gave us the full menu: fast hardpack, soft sand washes, rocky ledges, and long open stretches where you could let the Grenadier breathe. No stuck vehicles, no overheating, no major hiccups — pretty incredible given the conditions. Just a smooth, disciplined day of proper desert driving.

The visibility was endless, the terrain was rugged, and the heat made the whole experience feel even more raw and real. Everyone walked away dusty, sun-torched, and stoked — exactly how a Borrego run should end.

Huge shoutout to John Brindell and the Agile Offroad crew for leading the way and sharing their knowledge. And a big thank you to all 15 owners who showed up — this community is something special, and trips like this prove it.

The heat was extreme. The terrain was unforgiving. The Grenadier handled all of it.

Built different — and days like this show why.
